Where Raleigh babies arrive

Most Raleigh families deliver at one of three hospitals. WakeMed Raleigh Campus, on New Bern Avenue, is home to the Women’s Pavilion & Birthplace — private birthing rooms designed to feel more like home than hospital, with Wake County’s only Level IV NICU right there if a baby needs extra care. It’s the reassuring pick for higher-risk pregnancies and for parents who simply want every resource under one roof.

UNC REX Hospital, on Lake Boone Trail, has welcomed Raleigh babies for generations. Families describe its Women’s Center as polished and calm — private birth suites, wireless monitoring, nitrous oxide for pain relief, and a postpartum stay that feels more hotel than hospital. Over in North Raleigh, WakeMed North, on Falls of Neuse Road, is a full-service women’s hospital with a quieter, lower-volume feel that many North Raleigh and Wakefield families love.

Each hospital has its own rhythm — where to park at 3 a.m., how check-in flows, when shift change hits. A doula who has worked all three carries that map in her head, so you don’t have to think about any of it.

Raleigh neighborhoods I serve

I support families across the city — inside the Beltline in Oakwood, Five Points, Boylan Heights, and the Cameron Village area; north through Midtown and North Hills, Six Forks, and Stonehenge; and out to Wakefield, Brier Creek, and the Falls River neighborhoods. Prenatal visits happen in your home, and when labor starts, I meet you where you are — at home for early labor, or at the hospital when it’s time.

Birth support, then postpartum care

Birth support starts well before labor: we meet during pregnancy to talk through your hopes, build a birth plan that fits your hospital, and practice comfort measures together. I’m on call around your due date, and when labor begins you get continuous, hands-on support — counter-pressure, position changes, a calm voice, and a partner who feels coached instead of sidelined.

Then comes the fourth trimester, and Raleigh life doesn’t slow down for it. As your postpartum doula I come to your home for newborn care, feeding support, and the kind of practical help — a held baby, a hot meal appearing, a nap that actually happens — that lets you heal and land gently into new parenthood.
